As Palm Springs’ sun continues to sprinkle golden warmth into winter, the swimwear of the moment mirrors both desert glam and functional elegance. This year, trends evolve to flatter, shimmer, and stand out in the midday glow.
Sculptural & Statement-Making Styles
One-piece swimsuits are no longer just about coverage—they’re about impact. Expect bold silhouettes with intricate straps, sculptural ruching, and statement hardware that elevate the classic maillot into a polished fashion moment. These designs segue effortlessly from lounging poolside to sipping cocktails at sunset.
Hardware That Doubles as Jewelry
Palm Springs thrives on chic minimalism with a twist. Burnished O-rings, chain-link straps, or polished clasps don’t just hold swimsuits together—they double as wearable jewelry to catch the desert light in unexpected ways.
Rosette & Textural Flourishes
3D rosettes—think “Carrie Bradshaw energy”—adorn necklines and waistlines, injecting romance into sun-washed days. Meanwhile, textured fabrics like metallic seersucker and micro-smocking invite touch, dimension, and depth into every design.
Pattern Play: Stripes, Colorblocks & Jewel Hues
Palm Springs calls for swimwear that’s both bold and refined. Expect diagonal, optical-stripe maillots, jewel-toned shimmers, and sleek neutrals with sporty edge—collectively striking the perfect balance between desert vibrancy and modern minimalism.
Coordinated Resort-Wear
Effortless travel style remains key. Swimsuits now come with matching pareos, mesh skirts, or cover-ups—making transitions from pool lounge to desert sunset as seamless as they are fashionable.
Why These Styles Shine in Palm Springs
Desert Sun Meets Statement – From sculptural cuts to metallic textures, these pieces are designed to catch light (and attention)—perfect for a setting known for its elite poolside culture.
Effortless Elegance – With matching resort wear and bold but wearable designs, these looks are perfect for multi-day getaways where style, comfort, and versatility matter.
Timeless With a Twist – While nodding to vintage vibes—like 1960s postcard chic or minimal ’90s undertones—the designs feel fresh, elevated, and utterly Palm Springs.
It’s the one day of the week that feels like freedom wrapped in sunshine—the perfect canvas for a weekend trip or a staycation. No alarms blaring at dawn, no emails demanding instant replies—just a wide-open stretch of hours waiting to be filled with adventure, rest, or both. For New Yorkers, the Hamptons is more than just a getaway—it’s a ritual. A Saturday morning drive out east offers the promise of ocean breezes, farm stands bursting with fresh produce, and boutique-lined main streets where art and fashion mingle. By noon, you might be barefoot on the sand, a lobster roll in hand, watching the waves crash against the shore. By evening, it’s candlelit dinners in shingled homes or laughter echoing from backyard parties under the stars.
The Hamptons recharges not just the body, but the soul, with its mix of elegance and seaside simplicity.
On the other coast, Palm Springs turns a Saturday into a technicolor dream. Here, mid-century modern architecture glows against the San Jacinto Mountains, and every pool shimmers like a turquoise gem. Mornings are for farmer’s markets and bike rides past iconic homes, afternoons for soaking in hot mineral springs or lounging by the pool with a chilled drink in hand. As the desert sun dips, the city comes alive with neon lights, live jazz, and the kind of starlit skies that remind you how small and magical the world can be. A Palm Springs staycation is not just a trip—it’s a mood. Further east lies the Coachella Valley, a place where Saturdays feel electric. Known worldwide for its music festival, the valley is just as magical year-round.
Imagine a Saturday filled with hikes through slot canyons, picnics under date palms, and gallery visits showcasing desert-inspired art. By nightfall, the desert cools, and outdoor patios become gathering spots where the sound of conversation blends with the strum of a guitar. A weekend here is equal parts exploration and relaxation—sunset hikes followed by starry nights. Whether it’s an escape to the Hamptons, a Palm Springs retreat, or a Coachella Valley adventure, the magic of a Saturday lies in its permission to pause. A staycation isn’t just about geography—it’s about mindset. It’s about leaving behind routine, even for 24 hours, and stepping into a space where time feels abundant and joy is the only agenda.
On Saturday, you don’t need a grand plan—you just need a change of scenery. Because sometimes the smallest shifts—an ocean breeze, a desert sunset, a night under unfamiliar stars—can leave the biggest imprints on the heart. Saturday reminds us: life isn’t just about workweeks and deadlines. It’s about carving out spaces to breathe, wander, and dream—even if only for the weekend.

New York, NY — On Wednesday, September 10th, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Hutchinson Modern & Contemporary (HM&C) will open its doors to present José Gurvich: Sense of Place. More than an exhibition, this is a landmark event that places Gurvich, one of the most visionary and multifaceted artists of the 20th century, firmly in the spotlight he has long deserved.
The Genius of José Gurvich
Born in Lithuania in 1927, raised in Uruguay, and carried across Europe, Israel, and New York City, José Gurvich (1927–1974) embodied the spirit of a global citizen long before the phrase was fashionable. A member of the legendary Taller Torres-García, his early works were steeped in Constructive Universalism. But Gurvich’s restless imagination could not be confined—his artistry exploded into a dazzling range of mediums, genres, and subjects: still lifes, portraits, landscapes, abstraction, and deeply spiritual explorations of Jewish tradition.
Sense of Place is Gurvich at his most powerful: an artist who absorbed the world around him while carrying within himself an unshakable core of identity and imagination. His works are symphonies of place, memory, and soul—timeless testaments to a man who turned displacement into universality, and roots into wings.
The Exhibition: A Global Stage
For the very first time at HM&C, audiences will experience paintings, ceramic sculptures, and works on paper that chart Gurvich’s odyssey through four continents of inspiration:
Montevideo — The spark, where a young Gurvich absorbed Torres-García’s teachings and built the foundations of his creative universe.
Europe — The crucible of experimentation, where centuries of art history expanded his visual vocabulary.
Israel — The soul, where Jewish identity, faith, and ritual came alive on canvas and clay.
New York City — The crescendo, where the energy of the metropolis pushed him into bold abstractions and thrilling innovations until his untimely death in 1974.
Each geography transformed Gurvich—and yet, everywhere he went, he carried his own “sense of place” within him, infusing his art with symbols, beliefs, and roots that made his work instantly recognizable and profoundly personal.
Gurvich Among the Greats
The scale of Gurvich’s impact is evident in the company he keeps. His works are housed in the world’s leading museums, including:
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston
The Denver Art Museum, Colorado
The Princeton University Art Museum, New Jersey
The Blanton Museum of Art, Austin
The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), Long Beach
The Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA)
The Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales, Montevideo
The Museo de Bellas Artes, Caracas
To see Gurvich’s works gathered at HM&C is to witness an artist whose rightful place is among the giants of modern art.
A Digital Dimension
To deepen this unprecedented celebration, HM&C will debut an online Study Room at Hutchinsonmodern.com. This digital companion opens Gurvich’s world to global audiences, with archival materials, essays, and an immersive exploration of his artistic process.
A Night of History
The opening reception on September 10th will be nothing less than a cultural happening—an evening where collectors, critics, curators, and art lovers gather to honor a visionary whose work transcends borders and generations.
Sense of Place is not just another show. It is the moment José Gurvich takes his place on the world stage as one of the greats of the 20th century.

New York, NY — September 2025. At a time when the world faces crises of health, dignity, and sustainability, one man’s voice has risen above the rest at the United Nations. That man is Dr. Nabhit Kapur, Permanent Observer of the Pan-African Intergovernmental Agency on Water and Sanitation for Africa (WSA). With his unparalleled vision, tireless advocacy, and groundbreaking leadership, Dr. Kapur has been hailed across diplomatic circles as nothing short of Diplomat of the Year.
From Mental Health Crusader to Global Diplomat
Dr. Kapur began his journey as a fearless advocate for mental health—an area often neglected, stigmatized, and misunderstood. Through his Peaceful Mind Foundation, he challenged outdated perceptions, creating global programs that empowered communities across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. His name became synonymous with breaking barriers in psychology, earning him international recognition as one of the most influential voices in mental wellness.
Yet Dr. Kapur refused to stop there. His mission expanded, embracing an even greater challenge: ensuring clean water and sanitation for every person on Earth. His transition from psychologist to global diplomat is not a reinvention—it is an evolution of a leader destined for impact.
A Historic Appointment
In March 2025, Dr. Kapur presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, formally becoming the Permanent Observer for WSA. It was a landmark moment—the culmination of years of advocacy, strategy, and belief in the power of human dignity.
By April, media across Africa, Europe, and North America were declaring his appointment as the dawn of a new era in diplomatic activism. For the first time, WSA’s voice would echo through the chambers of the United Nations, with Dr. Kapur as its commanding representative.
Champion of Clean Water & Sanitation
“Water is life, and life is dignity,” Dr. Kapur stated in his rousing speech ahead of UNGA 80. His initiative, Science-Based Solutions for a Pact for Sustainable Clean Water and Sanitation Action in Africa, will launch on September 23, 2025, during the General Assembly.
This program is not rhetoric—it is action. With science, policy, and diplomacy combined, Dr. Kapur is rallying nations, corporations, and civil society to secure SDG 6: access to safe water and sanitation for all. The scale of his vision is breathtaking: a future where no child dies of preventable disease, no family is stripped of dignity, and no community is left behind.
Diplomat of the Year
The global community has taken notice. Dr. Kapur’s ability to bridge mental health, water, sustainability, and international diplomacy is unmatched. He is not only a negotiator but also a visionary humanitarian. Where others see challenges, he sees opportunities to create lasting systems of hope.
His charisma and credibility have earned him respect across continents—from African heads of state to European policymakers, from UN delegates to grassroots changemakers. His recognition as Diplomat of the Year is not just about accolades; it is about acknowledging a leader whose work will shape the next century.
A Legacy Beyond Borders
What makes Dr. Nabhit Kapur extraordinary is his refusal to separate humanity into silos. He sees mental health connected to water. He sees water connected to dignity. And he sees dignity connected to peace. This holistic vision is rare, bold, and desperately needed in today’s fractured world.
Through his leadership, the WSA is no longer just an observer at the UN—it is a beacon of transformation, a voice for 1.4 billion Africans, and an inspiration for the entire planet.
In 2025, while many diplomats spoke, Dr. Nabhit Kapur acted. And in doing so, he claimed his place as the United Nations’ Diplomat of the Year—a leader of conscience, courage, and change whose legacy has only just begun.

The Hamptons just got a whole lot hotter, Norah Lawlor THE PR and Trend Insider of The Hamptons just let us know — and no, we’re not talking about the late-summer heatwave sweeping across the dunes. We’re talking about the sizzling, wood-fired, flavor-packed phenomenon that is FRANKIE’S FABULOUS ITALIANO. Nestled inside the stylish new Drai’s East Hampton location on the effortlessly cool Three Mile Harbor Road, FRANKIE’S is the buzzy new food destination igniting taste buds and stealing hearts all across the East End.
#image_title
This isn’t just another pizza joint with a fancy zip code. FRANKIE’S is a culinary experience—rooted in authenticity, wrapped in elevated charm, and kissed by flames from its eye-catching, center-stage wood-burning oven. Yes, it’s true: the East End now has a new sacred temple of Italian flavor—and every summer socialite, foodie, and post-beach reveler is lining up to worship at its crispy, cheesy altar.
A Culinary Phoenix: The Rebirth of a Legend
Though it sports a brand-new name, FRANKIE’S is no rookie to the scene. This reimagined Italian hotspot is a rebirth of East Hampton’s longtime love affair with Italian comfort food, only now it’s sharper, sexier, and smokier than ever.
The vibe? Think Amalfi Coast meets modern Hamptons chic. A place where linen meets leather. Where Aperol spritzes clink beneath string lights on the breezy outdoor patio, and romantic date nights unfold in the warm, fire-lit glow inside. Whether you’re fresh from the beach or dolled up for a sultry summer dinner, FRANKIE’S fits your vibe and elevates your appetite.
Wood-Fired Wonder: The Menu That’s Lighting Up East Hampton
At the heart of FRANKIE’S lies its signature wood-fired oven—a blazing beacon of flavor and finesse. This is not your average pizza parlor. Here, dough made with imported Caputo flour is transformed into blistered Roman-style masterpieces. Toppings range from luxurious (truffle and portobello) to bold (spicy soppressata and Calabrian chili), making each bite a balance of crisp texture and melty decadence.
Craving pasta? Get ready to fall head over heels. From the creamy perfection of Penne alla Vodka to the hearty, soul-hugging Chicken Parmigiano, every dish is handcrafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and the kind of culinary love you can taste. And don’t skip the Frankie’s Special Antipasto Salad—a riot of color, texture, and fresh-picked produce that’s practically a meal in itself.
Finish it all off with a scoop (or three) of locally made gelato, and you’ve got yourself a meal worth writing home about—or at least posting to Instagram.
Drinks, Vibes, and Late-Night Magic
Let’s talk drinks. FRANKIE’S curated wine list is an homage to summer sipping. Crisp whites, flirty rosés, and rich, food-loving reds populate the menu, perfectly paired with whatever’s sizzling from the oven. Cocktail lovers, don’t fret—there’s no shortage of refreshing mixology here either. Whether you’re nursing a Negroni on the patio at sunset or raising a glass of Prosecco under the stars, the beverage program is as effortlessly polished as the crowd it serves.
And here’s where FRANKIE’S pulls ahead of the pack: late-night weekend hours. You read that right. While most of the Hamptons is rolling up its beach towel, FRANKIE’S is just getting fired up—staying open ‘til 2:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. Whether you’re grabbing a last-minute to-go order after a night out or indulging in a moonlit dinner on-site, this place is the go-to for nocturnal noshing.
More Than a Restaurant—It’s a Summer Lifestyle
Let’s be real: the Hamptons isn’t just a place; it’s a vibe. And FRANKIE’S nails it. It’s that post-beach hang where sandy flip-flops meet good wine. It’s that brunch spot where last night’s stories turn into this morning’s laughter. It’s where you celebrate under the stars, toast to new love, or simply indulge in really, really good food in an atmosphere that feels like a Mediterranean vacation without the jet lag.
Whether you’re a weekender, a local, or just “summering” for a while, FRANKIE’S delivers everything you want from a Hamptons restaurant in 2025—style, substance, and wood-fired soul.
