The novel coronavirus pandemic is a global emergency that is unprecedented in modern history. Profoundly impacting our daily lives, it has inspired Angelenos to respond with courage, compassion, wisdom and resolve to overcome this crisis and help each other. In a short period of time and at an unprecedented scale, residents in every community have embraced urgent social distancing best practices and aggressive hygienic precaution, not just to protect themselves, but to protect others. Angelenos understand with exceptional clarity that there is only one way to get through this difficult moment: together. The City’s recent emergency orders — curtailing large public gatherings; temporarily closing many government facilities; closing theaters, bars and entertainment venues; prohibiting restaurants from serving to dine-in customers while permitting take-out, delivery and drive-thru; and a moratorium on evictions of residential and commercial tenants — have been followed with a willing and generous spirit. While we have previously taken strong action, now the City must adopt additional emergency measures to further limit the spread of COVID-19. With this virus, we are safer at home. Wherever feasible, City residents must isolate themselves in their residences, subject to certain exceptions provided below. Under the provisions of Section 231(i) of the Los Angeles City Charter and Chapter 3, Section 8.27 of the Los Angeles Administrative Code, I hereby declare the following orders to be necessary for the protection of life and property in the City of Los Angeles, effective on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 11:59 PM:
1. Subject only to the exceptions outlined in this Paragraph and Paragraph 5 below, all persons living within the City of Los Angeles are hereby ordered to remain in their homes. Residents of the City of Los Angeles who are experiencing homelessness are exempt from this requirement. The City is working, along with partner government agencies and non-governmental organizations, to make more emergency shelters available for the unhoused residents of our City. City of Los Angeles officials and contracted partners responsible for homelessness outreach shall make every reasonable effort to persuade such residents to accept, if offered, temporary housing or shelter, as the Health Officer of the County of Los Angeles recommends that sheltering individuals will assist in reducing the spread of the virus and will protect the individual from potential exposure by allowing the individual access to sanitation tools. People at high risk of severe illness from COVID-19 and people who are sick are urged to stay in their residence to the extent possible except as necessary to seek medical care.
2. Subject only to the exceptions outlined in this Paragraph and Paragraph 5 below, all businesses within the City of Los Angeles are ordered to cease operations that require in-person attendance by workers at a workplace (including, without limitation, indoor malls and indoor shopping centers, including all stores except for those stores considered essential activities or infrastructure under this Order which are directly accessible to the public from the exterior of the mall or shopping center – the interior of the indoor mall or indoor shopping center shall remain closed to the public). To the extent that business operations may be maintained by telecommuting or other remote means, while allowing all individuals to maintain shelter in their residences, this order shall not apply to limit such business activities.
3. All public and private gatherings of any number of people occurring outside a residence are prohibited, except as to those exempted activities described in this Paragraph and Paragraph 5. This provision does not apply to gatherings within a single household or living unit.
4. All travel, including, without limitation, travel on foot, bicycle, scooter, motorcycle, automobile, or public transit is prohibited

Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe: How To Really Really Clean And Disinfect Against The Corona Virus

There is much to learn about the novel coronavirus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Based on what is currently known about the virus, spread from person-to-person happens most frequently among close contacts (within about 6 feet). This type of transmission occurs via respiratory droplets. Transmission of novel coronavirus to persons from surfaces contaminated with the virus has not been documented. Transmission of coronavirus in general occurs much more commonly through respiratory droplets than through fomites. Current evidence suggests that novel coronavirus may remain viable for hours to days on surfaces made from a variety of materials. Cleaning of visibly dirty surfaces followed by disinfection is a best practice measure for prevention of COVID-19 and other viral respiratory illnesses in community settings.

How to Clean and Disinfect

Surfaces

  • If surfaces are dirty, they should be cleaned using a detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.
  • For disinfection, diluted household bleach solutions, alcohol solutions with at least 70% alcohol, and most common EPA-registered household disinfectants should be effective.
    • Diluted household bleach solutions can be used if appropriate for the surface. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for application and proper ventilation. Check to ensure the product is not past its expiration date. Never mix household bleach with ammonia or any other cleanser. Unexpired household bleach will be effective against coronaviruses when properly diluted.
  • Prepare a bleach solution by mixing:
    • 5 tablespoons (1/3rd cup) bleach per gallon of water or
    • 4 teaspoons bleach per quart of water
    • Products with EPA-approved emerging viral pathogens claimsexternal icon are expected to be effective against COVID-19 based on data for harder to kill viruses. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for all cleaning and disinfection products (e.g., concentration, application method and contact time, etc.).
    • For soft (porous) surfaces such as carpeted floor, rugs, and drapes, remove visible contamination if present and clean with appropriate cleaners indicated for use on these surfaces. After cleaning:
    • If the items can be laundered, launder items in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions using the warmest appropriate water setting for the items and then dry items completely.
    • Otherwise, use products with the EPA-approved emerging viral pathogens claims (examples at this linkpdf iconexternal icon) that are suitable for porous surfaces 

Linens, Clothing, and Other Items That Go in the Laundry

  • Do not shake dirty laundry; this minimize the possibility of dispersing virus through the air.
  • Wash items as appropriate in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. If possible, launder items using the warmest appropriate water setting for the items and dry items completely. Dirty laundry that has been in contact with an ill person can be washed with other people’s items.
  • Clean and disinfect hampers or other carts for transporting laundry according to guidance above for hard or soft surfaces.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Hand Hygiene:
  • Cleaning staff should wear disposable gloves and gowns for all tasks in the cleaning process, including handling trash.
    • Gloves and gowns should be compatible with the disinfectant products being used.
    • Additional PPE might be required based on the cleaning/disinfectant products being used and whether there is a risk of splash.
    • Gloves and gowns should be removed carefully to avoid contamination of the wearer and the surrounding area. Be sure to clean hands after removing gloves.
  • Gloves should be removed after cleaning a room or area occupied by ill persons. Clean hands immediately after gloves are removed.
  • Cleaning staff should immediately report breaches in PPE (e.g., tear in gloves) or any potential exposures to their supervisor.
  • Cleaning staff and others should clean hands often, including immediately after removing gloves and after contact with an ill person, by washing hands with soap and water for 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available and hands are not visibly dirty, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains 60%-95% alcohol may be used. However, if hands are visibly dirty, always wash hands with soap and water.
  • Follow normal preventive actions while at work and home, including cleaning hands and avoiding touching eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
    • Additional key times to clean hands include:
      • After blowing one’s nose, coughing, or sneezing
      • After using the restroom
      • Before eating or preparing food
      • After contact with animals or pets
      • Before and after providing routine care for another person who needs assistance (e.g., a child)

 

Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe: TOP ! Riverside County Receives Federal Medical Station To Increase Hospital Capacity.

Riverside County health and emergency management officials received a federal medical station (FMS) from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Starting tomorrow morning, the California National Guard will be at the fairgrounds in Indio to set up a portion of the FMS in an existing building. The California National Guard will not perform any law enforcement activities. The station will provide an additional 250 beds to the county’s overall hospital system, which will ease the burden from an expected surge in COVID19 cases.

Jose Arballo Jr. Senior Public Information Specialist and Brooke Federico Riverside County Public Information Officer went out and beyond to help informing the public.

“We know we’ll have more cases and some of them will be serious,” said Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser.

“This medical station will relieve stress from our hospitals, allowing them to better provide higher levels of care for our sickest individuals, and get more people on the way to recovery faster.” The FMS includes all the equipment to run a basic hospital. This includes beds, bed sheets, portable sinks, medication and 740 complete units of personal protective equipment (PPE), including N95 masks, surgical masks, gloves, gowns and face shields. These materials will be set up in two existing buildings to create two stations that will care for less acute patients. Half of the materials will be used to set up a station the county fairgrounds in Indio, in existing buildings on the fairgrounds. The remaining materials will be used to set up an identical 125 bed facility in western Riverside County. The site for the western location will be shared soon.

“I am proud our Riverside County Fairgrounds will aid in this critical mission of providing a venue for health care,” said Riverside County Board Chair and Fourth District Supervisor V. Manuel Perez. I want to thank Congressman Ruiz as well as Assemblymembers Garcia and Mayes for their ongoing support and for ensuring that the federal medical station is established in the Coachella Valley and western Riverside County.” Riverside County hospitals will move stable, less severe patients to the federal medical station locations. This will allow greater capacity in the county’s existing hospitals to respond to the needs of more critical patients. The county continues to plan for the operation of the FMS, including meeting site requirements for the equipment and locating approximately 80 personnel to work in the two locations.

Merkel has been widely described as the leader of the European Union. She is also known as the most powerful woman in the world, and as the “leader of the free world”. 

Steffen Seibert, the spokesperson, said a doctor gave her a vaccination on Friday, then tested positive for the virus shortly after. While in quarantine, Merkel will continuously be tested for coronavirus, he added. Earlier Sunday, Germany implemented a “contact ban” to curb the spread of coronavirus, Merkel said. In a press conference, she said Germany would toughen its measures and encourage residents to “reduce contact with people as much as possible.”
“To that end, Germany will ban gatherings of more than two people”.

Stay home alone. You can take a walk, video conference, read a book and read the updates public health measures.

The plan is: SAFER AT HOME! We must slow the number of new cases at home of Covid 19.

Refrain from Gatherings with more than 10 people and many more rules in place. Groups of up to 9 people need to enforce the distance rule at all times. You need to stay at 6 feet apart.

Health care providers have access to protection equipment.

All large event venues remain closed. Food establishments: Only for pickup, delivery or drive-through.

Grocery stores, Farmer Markets and other essential business remain open. Plumbers and electricians remain open. Health care facilities and transportation remains open.

Malls closed and shopping centers. Outdoors malls must enforce strict social distancing.

Playgrounds closed, except within schools.

Do only buy what you need do not pile anything.

Help elders, donate blood, food or hygiene kids.

Mayor Eric Garcetti is confident that this decision data driven will help. 1918 Spanish flu was slowed down in smart cities.

Economic effects, we can not foresee, we need flatten that curve and safe lives. We are all safer at home. Stay at home order from midnight tonight.

A Christmas Exclusive. Christmas is here and so is the time for acts of kindness and self-less giving to be undertaken. At this special and loving time of year there are many whom wish to celebrate but may not be able to participate in gift giving or festive feasting due to a variety of reasons. With many charities created for and giving to people less fortunate, there are others we may not think about whom would love to be with their families, eat a home cooked Christmas dinner, and even just have the ability to send a small token of love to their loved ones and close friends with something so little as a Christmas card.  For one man in particular, giving comes easy, especially around this festive time of year. 

For over ten years Thomas Mace-Archer-Mills has pledged his life to educating about Royal finances, the power behind the British monarchy, and the intricate complexities of the tangible and intangible shapeshifting abilities of The Crown. He has undertaken many acts of kindness over the years, and through his own personal businesses has donated toys and food to churches and toy collection drives. This year is no exception, however the cause he has chosen is one that makes a difference to not just one, but several nations.

With his organisation, The British Monarchists Society, of which he is Founder and is under the Patronage of His Highness, Prince Mario-Max of Schaumburg-Lippe, Mace-Archer-Mills has been busy supporting a new charity which supports Her Majesty’s Armed Forces serving overseas. Promoting the little-known charity Christmas Cards for Soldiers, Mace-Archer-Mills and the British Monarchists Society have donated 300 packs of blank Christmas cards to the cause, andhave undertaken further promotion of the charity via social media, encouraging others to join the cause to help provide Christmas cards for Her Majesty’s soldiers stationed in the Middle East.

Cards for Soldiers. The Christmas Cards for Soldiers charity exists to provide the opportunity for British soldiers stationed in areas which may not celebrate Christmas, or provide the ability in shops and other venues, to acquire Christmas cards to send to their families and loved ones. The charity appeals to the public for donations of blank Christmas cards for the men and women stationed overseas which can be sent from the United Kingdom, free of charge by Royal Mail, to different bases in the Middle East. The charity’s Facebook states, “Christmas Cards for Soldiers has been set up to enable anyone back home to send blank Christmas Cards to our soldiers that they can then fill in and send back home. For hundreds of years soldiers have been sending letters home and even with the advances in technology this still happens… we can all agree there is nothing quite like a handwritten card from a loved one”. The Facebook page only has a total of 431 likes, but it is the hope of Mace-Archer-Mills, The British Monarchists Society and the Sergeant whom started the charity that this number, as well as the donation of cards, will grow substantially. 

Books and Success. Proving his love for and desire to keep on giving not at just this time of year, but the whole year througha, Mace-Archer-Mills has successfully bounced back from a torrent of erroneous, poorly reported, and half-truth media stories with a barrage of social media bullying in the early summer of 2018. Mace-Archer-Mills has not become bitter and sour but has come back stronger and more resilient than ever in 2019. Throughout the year Mace-Archer-Mills has continued to provide education to people and charities around the world, undertaking a book tour for his latest Gourmand Award winning title, Their Majesties’ Mixers: When They Reign,

They Pour, writing a new children’s book series, The Adventures of Little Queen Lilibet: A Royal Day Out, due out for Christmas in Italy and on Accession Day 2019 in the United Kingdom and America, and constantly giving to those around him. Christmas is the pinnacle of acts of selflessness and this belief is paramount to Mace-Archer-Mills. When we caught up with him to discuss the soldier’s charity and to ask why he and his organisation chose to support such a little–known charity. He responded, “Christmas has always been a special time of year for me… it aligns with my inner thoughts and beliefs as to how we as humans should treat and act towards others. The world is lacking greatly in humanity and understanding, and I, my organisation and I, wanted to choose something that would make a difference to a very forgotten demographic at this time of year. When I was first told about the charity by a Sergeant in the Army who conceived the idea, and wishes to remain anonymous, I instantly knew it was the right charity to give to. Of course, being monarchists and supporting Her Majesty, The Royal family and The Crown, it only makes sense to give our attention and donations to her Armed Forces. I hope that we are truly able to make a difference to those serving overseas in Her Majesty’s name. We wish them and their families a very happy Christmas”.

Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe: LAX new Uber and Lyft Pickup A Torture – Handicapped Have To Go Through A Maze!

Becca Doten from Uber wrote LAX about the problems with the catastrophic new regulations for Uber and Lyft. Laura J Nelson from the Los Angeles Times has picked up that topic in accuracy appropriately.

The new Bus to Uber Lyft Parking structure – also for Uber Assist and Lyft for Handicapped is highly torturing passengers with a walking, seeing or other impairment.

There are huge lines to even hop on such a bus. The handicap handlers do not wait the hour to get their wheelchair passengers on the busses.

All in all a bad idea and passengers are asking Keith Wilschetz, deputy executive director at Los Angeles World Airports, the city agency that runs LAX to reverse these news leaving them stuck in packed bus lanes and all by themselves.

How does the new Uber / Lyft pickup work at LAX airport? It does not for handicapped passengers…

Wilschetz is also asked to think of handicapped passengers and include them completely from the find your uber lot maze.
