Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe: Mona Joy, Hawaii’s Celebrated Star of Waikiki expected to attend 2024 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards

A Living Legacy: Mona Joy, Hawaii’s Songbird of Waikiki, Continues to Soar and is expected to attend the 2024 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards, which honor excellence in the Hawaii music industry, together with her daughter Melanie Palacio. The Awards will take place on Sat. Aug. 4th at the Hawai’i Convention Center.  The Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts (HARA) presents the awards, which were founded in 1978 by radio personality Krash Kealoha. The name translates to “Stars of Distinction” in Hawaiian, with “hōkū” meaning “star”, “nā” making it plural, and “hanohano” meaning “glorious, worthy of praises”.
