“We will never forget the loving, caring and charismatic legend, our President Randal Malone who sadly passed away Sunday at 6pm!”, Prince Mario-Max of Schaumburg-Lippe expresses in tears. He is a longtime friend and advisory board member of the SCMPC.
H.H. Dr. Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe Advisory Board Member/Royal Ambassador of the Southern California Motion Picture Council announces the sad passing of their President Lord Randal Malone. Randal Malone, President of the Motion Picture Council died today July 28th 2024 at 6pm in Los Angeles.
Prince Mario-Max of Schaumburg-Lippe was one of the closest friends of SCMPC President Randal Malone and as were his parents His Highness Prince Waldemar and Her Highness Princess Antonia zu Schaumburg-Lippe. “When our dear Michael Schwibs updated me about the sad passing I immediately called Margaret O’Brien”, Prince Mario-Max adds. He is a close friend of Oscar Winning Legend Margaret O’Brien who happened to be a close friend of Randal, Michael and the Royal family zu Schaumburg-Lippe of Prince Waldemar, Prince Mario-Max and Princess Antonia.
H.H. Dr. Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe receives the Golden Halo Award from President Randal Malone, Oscar Winner Margaret O’Brien and Joey Luft, Judy Garlands Son and Liza Minnellis brother.
Malone was born as the sole living heir to a tobacco farming empire dating back to the early 19th century, but he was more attracted to working in show business and Hollywood than managing the family industry in Kentucky. From the age of three, he spent his summers in Los Angeles with his grandmother, Francis Malone.
Upon graduation from college, Malone, a theater major, took to summer stock. He toured with the theater – which included several stints on Broadway. Still, he yearned for Los Angeles and moved to the city permanently in the late 1980s, where he did nightclub acts.
Randal Malone, Michael Schwibs, Margaret O’Brien and H.H. Dr. Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe
Malone was forced to cut back on the rigors of live performance to care for his ailing grandmother. Amongst other rare activities, he played backgammon twice weekly with Lucille Ball – up until two weeks before she died – and was described by Ginger Rogers in the National Enquirer as her longtime pal. Malone thus became more active in philanthropic pursuits, following in his grandmother’s footsteps. Amongst other accomplishments, he provided much needed assistance to the Motion Picture Home – a home for retired or infirmed actors – raising and donating money for the home and arranging for inspirational visitations from other Hollywood stars. He also worked closely with the late “Mayor of Hollywood”, Johnny Grant, securing stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (Hollywood Chamber of Commerce).
One of his first movie acting forays was the film Sunset After Dark where Malone co-starred with Oscar winner Margaret O’Brien and Anita Page.
H.H. Dr. Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe receives the Golden Halo Award from President Randal Malone, Oscar Winner Margaret O’Brien and Joey Luft, Judy Garlands Son and Liza Minnellis brother.
At an ensuing autograph show for Sunset After Dark Malone was discovered by producers from MTV who cast him opposite Carmen Electra on MTVs 1990s quirky hit show Singled Out. For three seasons, Malone played a variety of characters in a series of comedic sketches. Most notably was the character of “Filmstar Randal Malone” – a male version of Sunset Boulevard protagonist Norma Desmond. Singled Out host Chris Hardwick remarked that Malone and, particularly his character “Filmstar” was the funniest element in the show’s history. After Singled Out’s cancellation, Malone hosted segments for the Game Show Network until his grandmother’s health declined to the point that he had to quit the day to day schedule of television in order to care for her full time.
Malone served as President of the Southern California Motion Picture Council, a charitable organization rich in Hollywood history and remains one of the longest running groups of its kind in existence.

Art enthusiasts wearing protective face mask walking in front of El Prado museum in Madrid, the Louvre in Paris and the LACMA in Los Angeles. Sorry We Are Closed! All of world leading museums are closed to the public due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The Corona Virus / COVID-19 has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). Because of its global spread museums, art fairs, galleries, and many other art institutions and industry events have been faced with the decision to cancel, postpone or alter their 2020 editions or planned programming.
Good News for Non Profits ! Art nonprofits can now apply for COVID-19 relief grants through the National Endowment for the Arts.
The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) will provide nonprofit art organizations with emergency funding via the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Out of the recently approved $2-trillion national stimulus plan, $75 million has been allocated to the NEA.
Arts organizations own $10-million relief fund for artists affected by COVID-19.
7 United States art grantmakers, including the Academy of American Poets, Artadia, Creative Capital, Foundation for Contemporary Arts (FCA), MAP Fund, National YoungArts Foundation, and United States Artists, are launching a national emergency relief fund for artists affected by the COVID-19 crisis. The fund will distribute unrestricted grants of $5,000 on a continuing basis over the next six months. With $10 million already raised, the fund will provide support to U.S. artists with financial need during the pandemic.
Museums across the U.S., facing the effects of COVID-19, laid off staff or closed permanently.
The Museum of Modern Art, New Museum, and Whitney Museum of American Art are among the institutions impacted. The J. Paul Getty Trust is committing $10 million to a COVID-19 relief fund to support nonprofit art organizations and museums in Los Angeles. The L.A. Arts COVID-19 Relief Fund was announced on Thursday and will be administered by the California Community Foundation (CCF). It will give emergency operational funding and recovery support for smaller and mid sized arts nonprofits based in Los Angeles County. Also Getty is encouraging other organizations and individuals to contribute to the relief fund if you can.
Sotheby’s furloughed nearly 200 employees in response to COVID-19 and Andy Warhol Foundations Help.
Art auctioneer Sotheby’s furloughed 12 percent of its staff—roughly 200 employees—in response to the financial effects the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the art market, the Wall Street Journal reports. U.S. and U.K. employees who have not been furloughed will receive a 20 percent pay cut until June 1st, and executives will take an additional 10 percent reduction plus overtime pay has also been temporarily suspended.
The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts will provide $1.6 million in emergency grants to artists affected by the COVID-19 crisis and the foundation is teaming up with partner organizations in its Regional Program to distribute individual artist grants of $100,000 to artists in 16 U.S. cities. These funds may be used to help cover everyday expenses like food, rent, medical costs, and childcare.
Why you should invest your cash in art now!
You see the price hike in gold, the rollercoaster of stock but one valuable asset being completely unaffected by the Coronavirus: Art!
As pieces of art are not replicable their value will likely go up after the Coronavirus has settled. Art galleries are still open for online business and the variety is enormous. From a hidden treasure of Wiener Werkstaetten to a rare Warhol. Go Shop!
